Concept

The recent explosion of data breaches and identity theft cases has prompted many companies to tighten their information destruction protocols. Many desire a smaller shred size as the end product of their secure information. Our knowledge gathered from over 50 years of building superior shredding equipment has allowed us to create a shredder that can give companies just that.

The Allegheny Cross-Cut Shredder is made specifically for document destruction or record management companies that want to maximize the volume of shred paper they are processing while offering their customers a significantly smaller, more secure shred size.

Rather than cutting in strips, Allegheny’s Industrial Cross-Cut Shredder uses individually stacked tool steel cutters with counter-rotating shafts to create a single pass cross-cut rectangular shred. Depending on the model, the end product can measure as small as 1/8″ wide x 1″ long. In addition to the increased security, the discharge from an Allegheny Industrial Cross-Cut Shredder takes up less space in your facility due to its smaller shred size (as compared to a strip-cut shredder).

Allegheny’s Industrial Cross-Cut Shredder is available in two models, the 16-75CX and the 20-350CX. The 16-75CX has a 16″ feed opening and is available with a 5, 7.5, or 10 Hp motor. The 20-350CX has a 20″ feed opening and is available with a 25, 30, or 40 Hp motor. Allegheny also has recently released a new version of the 20-350CX that has a 30″ feed opening and a 50 Hp motor.

  Used with a loading cart or security container, the Allegheny 880 Tipper offers an efficient way to load materials onto your shredder’s input conveyor. This increases the volume of throughput to be shredded and minimizes operator fatigue and strain.
• Output Conveyors
  For transporting shredded materials into a baler, compactor, dumpster, or other receptacles.
• Horizontal Balers
  For Allegheny 16-Series Cross-Cut Shredders, we offer a complete line of heavy-duty balers to increase the efficiency of your recycling operations.
• Piggyback Systems
  Unique Allegheny design mounting a 16-Series Cross-Cut Shredder directly over an Allegheny 2024-532 CE Horizontal Baler, to create a complete shredding system in a limited space.
• Mobile Shredding Systems
  You supply a truck and we’ll install a complete mobile shredding system using the 16-Series Cross-Cut Shredder, diesel generator, optional output conveyor and all necessary equipment and accessories.
• Consoles & Security Containers
  Allegheny provides a full selection of security containers and executive consoles to provide secure storage of documents prior to shredding.
