Westmoreland County Blind Association

Westmoreland is one of the best examples of how you can build up a non-profit shredding service with Allegheny’s unique system. Starting out with a single 16-series shredder, Westmoreland has expanded their operation every year to help provide more jobs for their clients. Currrently they have almost 30 j-series shredders, multiple conveyors, and a full baling system.

Tim Miller, who has been instrumental in expanding this non-profit to what it has become, says that he couldn’t be happier with his relationship with Allegheny.

“Our Allegheny shredders are a perfect fit for our work here at Westmoreland. We employ 75 handicapped workers to shred 6,000 pounds a day of documents. Our clients enjoy running the shredders—it’s easy and safe work for them, they’re making a contribution they can be proud of, and it helps them live independent lives.”

“We were referred to Allegheny when we began looking into this line of work for our clients about eight years ago. Evelyn and the sales team were wonderful to work with—they are efficient, informative, and friendly. Allegheny has also provided good, solid, quick service when we’ve needed it.”

“I recommend Allegheny shredders to other companies all the time. I feel like an Allegeny tour guide —I’ll let folks come in and see how we use the shredders, tell them about our experience with Allegheny, and let them go from there. Several have taken my recommendation and joined the Allegheny family as well.”
